Nigeria's LMC Congratulates Heartland FC For Returning To NPFL
===============================================

The organizers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL), Nigerian League Management Company (LMC) have sent a congratulatory message to Heartland FC of Owerri popularly known as the 'Naze Millionaires' for making it back to their former status, NPFL.

After spending just a season in the lower cadre of the country's football league - Nigeria National League (NNL) - owing to the relegation suffered after the end of the last season of the NPFL, the Owerri based team regained promotion on Wednesday, 11th October 2017 after defeating the First Bank FC at the Agege Stadium in Lagos State with a 1-0 aggregate. Okoro Ndukwe netted the winner in the 36th minute of the encounter.

The Naze Millionaires now boasts of 60 points from 31 matches in the ongoing season of the NNL, having just a game left, thereby remains the leading team on the league table.

The feat recorded thus far has given the Owerri side a ticket to feature in the next season of the NPFL come next year.

The LMC tweeted immediately after the game,  “Congratulations @HeartlandFC_ng. Welcome back to the #NPFL. Hopefully the Dan Anyiam Stadium will rock this season!”

Reacting to the latest development, some Imolites who were interviewed by Rostrum opined that the Naze Millionaires were able to attend the heights due to their resilience and determination, thus enjoined the Imo government to continue to do the needful towards ensuring that no more bad outing would be recorded by the team.

According to the well-meaning individuals cum sport stakeholders, Heartland FC suffered from the lapse (the relegation) as a result of mismanagement experienced by the team during the previous season. In view of this, they urged the government to desist from mixing politics with sports, opining that both sectors had no meeting point.

It would be recalled that until after the recent relegation, Heartland FC was one of the two teams that were yet to be relegated in the NPFL. Hence, consequently only the Rangers FC of Enugu is currently enjoying such record.
