It is now clear that all roads lead to Abuja, the Nigerian Federal Capital Territory, as the non-elective national convention of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) is graciously scheduled to take place today being Saturday, August 12, 2017.

The convention will apparently be the major meeting of the PDP faithful since the party's 14-month leadership impasse between Senators Ali Modu Sheriff and Ahmed Makarfi was nipped in the bud by the Nigeria's Apex Court, precisely on 12th July 2017.
The Chairman of the Convention Planning Committee who is as well the current Governor of Delta State, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa stated that the convention would send a 'very strong signal to the ruling party, the APC and Nigerians at large', saying the PDP was set to reclaim power at the federal level come 2019.
Report indicates that all the PDP bigwigs, including immediate past President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan et al, are expected to be present at the epochal gathering.
