Saturday, 19th August 2017 was another shocking moment in the revered America's Seat of Power, the White House, as President Donald Trump outrightly removed the renowned architect of his 2016 election victory and a driving force behind his pro-national cum anti-globalization agenda, Mr. Steve Bannon who was appointed by the boss as his Chief Strategist the moment he assumed duty as the number-one American citizen.
The White House Spokesperson, Mrs. Sarah Sanders announced the development in a press release. According to her, the relieved cabinet member, Mr. Bannon and the White House's Chief of Staff, Mr. John Kelly had earlier had a mutual agreement that today being August 19 would be the former's last day in the seat of power.
In his reactions, the 63-year-old Mr. Bannon who has already returned to Breitbart News, the far-right publication he led before joining Mr. Trump's election campaign, disclosed he still backed the latter but however expressed doubt over the administration's future without his services.
The former Navy officer, Goldman Sachs Investment banker as well as Hollywood Movie producer, stated his exit from the White House indicated a severe shift for the Mr. Trump's agenda.
It would be recollected that it was Mr. Bannon that persuaded Mr. Trump to stick to some of his numerous controversial campaign pledges, which included a travel ban on individuals from many Muslim-majority countries and his decision to pull out of the Paris Climate Change agendum of the United Nations (UN).
