The People's Democratic Party (PDP) is prepared to hold its National Convention today being Saturday, 9th December 2017 in Abuja, the Nigeria's capital territory.

In his words, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee who is equally the Delta State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa disclosed that all was ready for the long awaited convention to take place as planned.

While responding to newsmen in Abuja, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party, Chief Ahmed Markafi stated that the PDP would leave no stone unturned towards ensuring that a free and credible elective convention is held.

Over six stalwarts of the party such as Chief Otunba Daniel, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Prince Uche Secondus and Adebode George are lined up as the contestants for the Chairmanship position.

It would be recalled that the PDP had earlier zoned the party's presidential candidate to the North whilst its Chairman to the South after its protracted leadership impasse was settled by the Supreme Court.

Abuja is at the moment highly heated over the long awaited gathering.
